This privacy policy explains how Nicolai Van der Storm (“I”, “me”) collects and processes data on nvds.be (“this site”). I am based in Belgium and this policy is written in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Analytics
This site uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that I self-host on my own server at plausible.nvds.be.
Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect any personally identifiable information. It measures aggregate traffic data only (page views, referrers, device types, country-level location). No data is shared with third parties.

Contact form
When you submit the contact form, I collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- The content of your message
This data is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is not shared with third parties. I retain messages for as long as necessary to handle your inquiry, after which they are deleted.
Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Comments
This site uses Disqus for comments. When you leave a comment, Disqus collects data according to their own privacy policy. Disqus may set cookies and share data with third parties for advertising purposes.
If you prefer not to use Disqus, you can always reach me via the contact form.
Newsletter
If you sign up for my newsletter, I collect your email address. This is used solely to send you updates and is never shared with third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter email.
Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw your consent at any time.

Hosting & infrastructure
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare may process request metadata (IP addresses, headers) as part of routing and DDoS protection. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details.
Cookies
This site itself does not set any first-party cookies. Third-party services (Disqus, YouTube, Twitter/X, Vimeo) may set their own cookies when their content is loaded on a page.
